Previous editions of the EPCCT Meeting

Over the past two years, the European Photon-Counting CT Meeting has become a central meeting point for radiologists, physicists, researchers, and industry partners who are shaping the future of photon-counting CT technology. Each edition brings together international experts to exchange knowledge, explore clinical innovations, and discuss the rapidly evolving technical landscape of PCCT.

A growing platform for knowledge and collaboration

Across our first two editions, the meeting has offered a dynamic mix of keynote lectures, scientific sessions, panel discussions, and live demonstrations. Topics have ranged from the technical foundations of photon-counting detectors to real‑world clinical applications in cardiovascular, neuro, thoracic, abdominal, and MSK imaging. Sessions also covered workflow integration, data reconstruction, protocol standardization, and the organizational steps needed to prepare institutions for PCCT implementation.

First edition, 2025

The inaugural congress marked the global debut of EPCCT. Over three days, the participants explored both the fundamentals and the clinical promise of PCCT. Interactive panel discussions, cross‑disciplinary debates, and an optional dedicated live‑imaging program on the third day allowed attendees to observe complete PCCT workflow in practice. The strong international turnout underscored the growing momentum of PCCT and the need for continued collaboration and knowledge‑sharing.

Second edition, 2026

The second edition took place at the Doelen in Rotterdam and offered a two‑day program. With over 300 participants and an international faculty of high-quality and experienced speakers we built on the achievements of the first edition. Although heavy snowfall made travel challenging, we were able to set up a last minute live stream which ensured excellent participation both on‑site and online. The program focused on current clinical insights, emerging research, and practical considerations for implementing PCCT in diverse healthcare environments.

Looking ahead

Each EPCCT edition strengthens our shared understanding of how photon-counting CT can transform patient care. As the field continues to advance, the meeting will remain a platform for exchanging expertise, presenting new evidence, and fostering the collaborations that drive innovation. With the growing interest in photon‑counting CT, we look forward to organizing new editions of the EPCCT Meeting in the years ahead.
